Internet Monuments

FAQ

What am I actually buying?
A single numbered place in one of our monuments, and the right to put a small amount of text in it. That's it. No token, no certificate, no equity in anything.
Is it really permanent?
It's permanent in the way a website is permanent: it stays up as long as the site does. We intend to keep these up indefinitely. We are not promising to outlive the sun.
Why is my entry not showing up?
Internet Guestbook 2026 publishes immediately after successful PayPal payment. If you paid and do not see your entry within a few minutes, email hello@internetmonuments.com. Other monuments are reviewed by a human before they appear. Entries that break the rules may be hidden or removed after publication.
Can I edit my entry later?
Not in the current version. Write it like it's going on a tombstone, because it sort of is.
What if my entry is rejected?
We reject entries that are illegal, hateful, spammy, or impersonating someone. Rejected entries are hidden and are not automatically refunded. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@internetmonuments.com.
Do you offer refunds?
Places are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law or at our discretion. We are selling you a spot in a joke monument; please buy accordingly.
What are the badges?
Purely vanity. In Internet Guestbook 2026, special place numbers earn automatic badges after payment — for example #1 First Entry, #42 The Answer, #404 Not Found, and #9973 Final Prime (the largest prime-numbered place in the 10,000-place guestbook). Numbers are assigned in order at payment; badges are luck, not reserved slots. They confer no powers.
Can I buy more than one place?
Yes. Buy as many as you like. Each is a separate place with its own number.
How do I pay?
PayPal Checkout when purchases are open. No account required on our site — PayPal sends your receipt. If checkout is closed, join the waitlist on the monument page.
What is the waitlist?
When checkout is not open yet, or a monument is coming soon, you can leave your email. We store it to notify you about launches. No spam promise — launch news only.
